More and more people get connected to the web with mobile devices (Cellphone, PDAs, Video Players,…) through GPRS, EDGE, UMTS or WiFi,… The mobile operators already started to provide flat rate plans for data (with or without iPhone).
There are at least four good reasons for to believe that the future of Internet will be mobile:
• The number of mobile subscribers is 2.5 superior to Internet subscribers (Dialup and Broadband combined). Nokia is expecting 4 billion mobile subscribers by 2009/2010,
• There will be more offers for flat rate plans for data usage provided by the mobile operators,
• New technologies such as WiMAX, HSOPA or LTE will boost the demand for services,
• New handsets will bring more comfort including larger screens, touchscreens, faster connections and contactless technologies such as NFC. |
